December reports on Duluth (first CBC record), Roseau (2, marginal details), Lac qui Parle (no details), and Tamarac NWR (no details) CBC's, plus Le Sueur 12/22 PS (adult), Lake 12/22 DPV (adult), and Koochiching 12/22 KB (imm.) (all on 12/22!). One mid-winter report Aitkin 1/19 KB (adult), plus two February reports Polk 2/8 PS (overwintering?) and Hubbard 2/15 RJ (early migrant?).

The latter may be early migrants or overwintering individuals; analysis of reports from the last 15 years (excluding CBCs and reports from Southeast region) indicates only a slight increase in reports during mid–late February.

2000Spring More reports than usual, continuing a trend from the winter season. Late south 4/22 Carver (3) †RTD, 5/1 Stevens (adult) RJ; also observed in Dakota, Isanti, and Nobles. Reported north from Carlton, St. Louis, Morrison, Roseau (2), Wilkin (2), and 4/19 Clay (near Downer) RO. The latter was the only April report north away from the West Skyline Hawkwatch in Duluth, St. Louis County where an amazing 63 were counted for the season, including a peak of 13 on 3/4 (FN).
